Circulating Oil Lubrication

Circulating Oil Lubrication

General information about circulating oil lubrication

Oil circulation systems are used for the lubrication and cooling of bearings and gearboxes.

Circulating oil lubrication offers advantages over conventional lubrication, particularly for large or high-speed bearings or gearboxes where the rotational speed or ambient temperature causes a high temperature load.

In contrast to consumable lubrication, recirculating lubrication allows the oil to flow back from the lubrication point to the oil reservoir. By reusing the oil, sufficient filtering must be ensured to guarantee functional reliability.

Applications can be found, for example, in the

  • Paper industry
  • textile industry
  • turbines
  • printing machines
  • presses
  • steel industry
  • etc.

Systems

Customized solutions

Each system is customized to fit to the requirements of your application.

The systems for example consist of:

  • Feed pumps
  • Oil storage tanks
  • Sensors for pressure, flow and temperature
  • filters
  • throttle valves
  • Progressive distributors
  • and various other parts.

There are various ways of distributing the lubricant to the lubrication points, such as throttles, progressive distributors or multi-circuit pumps. Which parts are used depends on the task at hand.

Depending on the application and customer requirements, the components are combined and dimensioned in such a way that each system offers optimum functionality while keeping costs within reasonable limits.

In addition to the basic structure required for the realization of an oil circulation system, there are optional parts and assemblies that are used for monitoring or optimizing the system for special applications, for example.
